摘要

Photocatalytic solar energy conversion has garnered considerable attention due to its cost-free, eco-friendly, renewable, and sustainable characteristics. Layered perovskite materials possess unique layered crystal structure, suitable band structure, and highly tailorable elemental composition, exhibiting significant potential for photocatalytic energy conversion. However, there is currently no comprehensive review to specifically clarify the research status of layered perovskites. Herein, this article comprehensively reviews the research progress of layered perovskites in the field of solar fuel production. Firstly, this review details the structure, composition, basic properties, and synthesis methods of layered perovskites, particularly the topochemical conversion between layered perovskites. Subsequently, a detailed description of the basic principles and mechanisms of solar energy conversion process was provided in order to offer guidance for the design of layered perovskite photocatalysts. Then, a comprehensive review was conducted on the research progress of diverse types of layered perovskites based on different modification strategies, especially the summary of polarization engineering strategies and Sillen-Aurivillius (SA) type layered perovskite structures, which are significant research trends less mentioned in other reviews. In addition, the vital role of theoretical calculations in predicting and studying layered perovskite photocatalysts was summarized. Finally, a summary and outlook on layered perovskite photocatalysts were presented, with a focus on analyzing and comparing the photocatalytic activity and modification strategies of important members in the layered perovskite family. This review is expected to provide constructive references for further development of layered perovskites for solar fuel production.
